Bamboo Fencing, Screens and DisplaysThe bamboo is carefully selected from China, Indonesia and South America with the best environmental practices and with farming methods that are Panda friendly.
Bamboo is a sustainable natural material with excellent eco credentials. When it is harvested the root system is left intact, ready to grow again, similar to the way in which you cut your lawn. This helps to minimise the effects of soil erosion and is better than timber production, where trees are cut down, the roots are destroyed and replanting of new trees is required. Bamboo is a natural product so it is normal for bamboo poles to have a slight taper and curvature with some surface embellishments. These characteristics depend on the type of bamboo selected. As it ages the bamboo will change colour and the outer enamel coating will soften. After a couple of years the weathered bamboo can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a scouring pad and most of the natural colour will be restored. Your bamboo is now ready to be oiled, waxed, varnished or dyed. At this stage the bamboo has become porous and soft enough to be able to absorb any stains or oils that you may wish to apply. Alternatively bamboo can be heat treated immediately using a gas blow torch to provide a carbonised finish, the benefits being that the weathering process is less noticeable and you also create a whole new look to your bamboo, you can also wax or oil your bamboo following completion of burning. Bamboo is increasingly being used in the construction sector due to its strength and eco-friendly credentials. The first use of structural bamboo in the United Kingdom was at the Gorilla Kingdom in London Zoo, designed by Proctor and Matthews. The bamboo products can be used to enhance personal garden areas as well as for trade and construction customers, such as architects, interior designers, shop fitters, zoos, theme parks, exhibitions, festivals, schools, theatres, television and movie sets, and landscape gardeners. Bamboo can be used to make garden features, such as bamboo fences, borders, gazebos and other garden structures. We are able to supply bamboo poles in standards lengths (1m, 2m, 3m, 4m, 5.5m, 6m) and custom lengths on request, widths from 20mm to 150mm diameter, and many varieties, including the popular moso bamboo, black bamboos, speckled and big bamboos, and split bamboo.
