We have been selling composite decking for a few years now but have only recently installed some display areas at the nursery. We stock the Ecoscape composite decking and are more than happy with the quality of their product. Prices are compatible and the product is excellent. The decking is available in two styles FORMA and CLARITY.
Award winning composite decking
Used in both domestic and commercial applications these stylish, durable and low-maintenance composite (WPC) decking boards are a fantastic solution for the damper climate we are now living in. Available in two styles Clarity and Forma, these boards have a dual surface texture so you can choose between a traditional and contemporary finish. They are also available in 12 different colours so can easily blend in with your home colour scheme.
Clarity
Clarity decking boards are available in five colours, have a dual surface sporting narrow and wide grooves, has outstanding anti-slip qualities (perfect for commercial applications), is affordable and comes with an impressive 20-year warranty
Forma
The Forma collection is our premium composite decking board that is available in seven stylish colours, has a dual surface consisting of traditional wood grain on one side and a wide groove on the other. Forma has outstanding stain resistance, colour stability and comes with a 25-year warranty.
Low maintenance
The WPC decking collection has been designed with customers in mind. As to be expected, the boards require little to no maintenance and can be cleaned with a jet wash as and when required. The durable nature stands up to the typically wet British weather, UV rays, rotting and will look as good as new for many years, especially when used with our timber free support systems.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is composite decking?
Composite decking boards (also known as WPC & plastic decking) are made using a mixture of wood fibres, reclaimed plastics and binding agents. The durable and low maintenance qualities of composite decking will often see companies offer warranties of 20 years upwards. This is because composite decking has a higher protection against the British elements such as rain and UV ray damage. Customers are also less likely to see any splitting, splintering or mould issues.
How long does composite decking last?
Given the durable nature of our Clarity and Forma composite decking, customers can expect a lifespan of at least 20 years and 25 years respectively. Customers can expect a longer lifespan if the decking is cleaned every few months. Even though Clarity and Forma ranges are low maintenance, a little love and care will go a long way.
Which composite decking is best for me?
The two composite decking ranges are ideal for most properties throughout the UK although there are some subtle differences.
The Clarity decking is is low maintenance, has great stain resistance and excels as an anti-slip board.
The Forma decking boards are also low maintenance, have improved stain resistance and has a higher protection against UV rays which is why we offer a 25 warranty.

Are the products easy to maintain?
Simply put, yes.
The engineered range of wood/plastic composites, provide the durability of synthetic products with the malleability of wood. This leaves you with a product that is incredibly low-maintenance.
There is no need to paint, stain or seal however we do recomend a periodical clean either with a jet wash or light brush and hose.
We advise customers to consider that lighter colours may require a little more maintenance as surface dirt can be more visible.

Should I choose, hollow of solid decking?
We have the ability to produce both hollow and solid composite deck boards yet have opted for hollow.
This is because the boards have specially-engineered arched cavities resulting in a length that is not only 30% lighter than comparable solid decking, but also provides high strength and stiffness for high performance applications. 'Art, and nature even more, makes use of these in thousands of operations in which robustness is increased without adding weight, as is seen in the bones of birds and in many stalks that are light and very resistant to bending and breaking' Galileo Galilei on the resistance of hollow solids (1638).
The composites achieve a greater strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring no drooping or bounce, so boards feel solid under foot.
Honeycomb Stability
Unlike some solid decking, hollow decking materials do not warp. The manufactured stabilising core mimics that of a honeycomb, producing a stiffness not achieved by many solid boards. Honeycomb composites are used widely in many industries, from aerospace industries to packaging and logistics.

What are Ecoscape UK composite materials made of?
Ecoscape UK composites are 55% hardwood fibres (ethically sourced from from reclaimed materials) and 45% high density polyethylene (the plastic typically attained from plastic milk bottles). Other ingredients include high quality colour pigment and bonding agents. Producing a product with all the workable qualities of wood whilst gaining the durability of synthetic materials that requires far less maintenance and has a much longer life span than timber decking.
What are the main advantage of using composite over timber?
The composite decking is environmentally innovative and manufactured from recycled material. Ecoscape materials contain no PVC and so is free from toxic ingredients that would normally leak out in to your garden or terrace.
Easy to maintain
Ecoscape decking is a low maintenance option for your home. There is no need for treatments such as painting, sanding, sealing etc. Just a yearly clean is recommended, either with a jet wash or light brush and hose.
Unique surface
Ecoscape decking has a high-friction anti-slip surface making it a safe platform, in both wet and dry conditions. The natural low moisture absorption means that it has a high resistance to staining, mould and especially warping.
As it is a manufactured board, it is free from knots, twisting, splits and cracks usually encountered with timber decking. Our splinter free surface makes deck comfortable for bare feet and safe for small children. Also the deck is hardwearing, it can withstand heels, weight and moving of decking furniture and patio heaters.
Retaining colour
Unlike timber, Ecoscape composites contain less lignin, which is the component of wood that contributes to greying over time.
This gives the composite material a much higher natural resistance to the "greying" process caused by exposure to ultra violet light.

Will the colour of Ecoscapes composites change?
Independent testing has shown that Ecoscape UK composites have a significantly better colour stability than timer decking products and most comparable WPC decking products. Over time some fading may occur: this can be partially reversed with regular pressure hose cleaning.
How does Ecoscapes composite hold up to different temperatures?
Like all wood-plastic composites, the Ecoscape collection will expand and contact consistently with changes in temperature.
Points to remember for the decking are;
The general recommendation is 3mm expansion gaps for decking boards is based on the assumption that after installation, the deck temperature may increase by as much as 30 degrees.
If the deck is built on a hot day, the main movement will be shrinkage, and smaller gaps should be left
Smaller gaps may be left for shorter pieces
Be sure to use Ecoscape T-Clips which allow for thermal expansion and contraction without buckling.
